  1. this is a sad story. i hate the fact that this guy was imprisoned for something that he did not do. i mean just cause he was walking outside after the shooting does not mean he is automatically the shooter. this story really shows the flaws of are judicial system. its sad because this guy lost 14 years of his life that he can never get back, he could have been spending that time getting married, have a family get a job, but no he sat in prison for something to do. and whats even worse is he is free physically but he is not free emotionally because he has to wait every day to hear wether or not he is truly a free man. i think that its so cool that other guys that have been in his situation joined together to help him out while he waits. i guess there is hope for some people after all...

  2. What standard for "burden of proof" do some courts need to get a conviction from a judge or jury in this country? Sometimes things are just really rotten.

  3. It is so unfortunate that this man had to spend so many years locked up for a crime he didnt even commit... I thought the only way someone can be convicted is if they are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt! Hmmm? Anywho, that speaks very poor on our crimial justice system... he had to spend so many years on lock down when he could have had a normal life. Im not saying that he was not tied to this crime in some way, but the truth of the matter is, is he didnt do it...

  4. Fourteen years in prison guilty or not guilty is a long time to spend your life in a way that you do not choose for yourself. I think cases should not be held open for such an extensive amount of time without being proven innocent or guilty. Many people in the world today spend time in prison with cases like this and lose alot of valuable time within the prison system for no reason. I understand that it takes time to find evidence and gather other information as well as find time to setup court dates but 14 years in prison is just way too long. I think somethings need to change within the court system to avoid things like this. I think somethin should happen to the witness and maybe the prosecuter for making false statements. These are peoples lives that are put on the line and as you can see listening to the he/she say not knowing if it is true or false can change people lives.

  5. Just to think that there are many innocent people behind bars, paying for a crime they did not commit while the true killer is out enjoying life. This man spent fourteen years in prison for something he did not do, and these years can never be recuperated. This is just one of the many problems of our criminal justice system.
