  1. I had to give other bloggers a peep into this interesting concept of an awesome way to retrieve data. They actually coaught people in the moment in order to collect data. if it is the most effecient way im not sure, yet its creative and with other tools it could definately be extremely affective."He use of theatre to deepen understanding of the social world - into a research methodology with colleagues and graduate students now employing it.??Here, the research “data” includes the audience members’ ideas about, involvement in and reactions to what they see on the stage or video. The audience addresses the problems they see being acted out, teaching themselves about the topic through the process." This leads me to think about genocide and how I would feel If I saw a play of the actual murders taking place.

  2. I think that this new research methodology is a great idea. I think that duo ethnography is a good idea, because no two people think exactly the same way or see things in the same way. So for people to be able to converse while doing research will help people to understand just how the other person may see a certain subject and why.

  3. Methodology research is a good idea because it plays a big role into the criminal justice system. It helps investigators understand why crimes are committed through reenactment of a scene. Through research and conversation we are able to gain knowledge of other viewpoints. It is what builds our guidelines and rules today in a legal since.

  4. If you think about we as human being have been doing for centuries. Basically it is two people talking and understanding each others point of view. It is another lesson on how research methods is always changing. You can being your research in so many different ways. People are coming with so many different ways to do research it is amazing. Doing research is not a set in stone method. Im amazed some one has not come up with this earlier as a way to do research. But it sounds like away to start off a research process.

  5. I enjoyed this article about the new research methodology. In my opinion it is a great idea, because it allows the researcher a chance at the experience hands on, oppose to what they might not be able to comprehend by a survey or questionnaire, or just reading it off of a piece of paper or interviewing people. I wonder if this type of research would have some of the same weaknesses as field research or survey research. For example would the data be artificial, or would it provide a natural setting for the research, or how much does this research cost? Either way there are strengths and weaknesses to all research and this is a great idea.

  6. I think this new type of data collection for research helps to obtain a new view on some subjects. It helps the researcher gain a greater understanding of the subject matter and offers new insight that might have been missed utilizing other research methods. However, this type of research might not be available for every subject that a researcher wanted to research. For instance serial killers, would they be trying to justify their crimes to the researcher, or what if they are researching suicide bombers? Although this new type will allow certain research topics to be explored in a new way, other research topics will not be able to utilize this new method.

  7. Per the article duoethnography is “As a curriculum and a research method, duoethnography explores two seminal issues: representation in qualitative research (how to represent findings when findings are created within a dynamic phenomenonological text), and praxis (how research contributes to a sense of personal change)” Prof. Norris just give a name to what researcher have being doing from the start. Bounce ideas and conversation off each other, Norris research is just on a different plan. As CRJ major we can incorporate this methodology by officers or law enforcement agencies share information of past histories. The more experience officers will help train others by exposing social and cultural exposure across time. This will unsolved crimes be solve because a new view point or perspective will exam the files through duoethnography.

  8. This is a very interesting method of research, I wonder what other new methods will be "discovered" throughout the upcoming years to give researchers new ways of obtaining, and analyzing data. This one is really cool, using the members of an audience to see how view different subjects to get a better, and deeper understanding is brilliant. Every research method however has it's cons and pros, I wonder what the ups and downs of this type of research would be. It is hands on, and the researcher is able to observe directly which is great, but is there room for error in interpretation?

  9. An interesting method of research nonetheless. Ways of researching are constanly and rapidly evolving, and there are so many different types of research to be conducted. This is certainly a way of starting a research process off. As stated in the comment above I was wondering the same thing about what the ups and downs in this type of research methodology would be. I'm sure we will be seeing new types of research methods being presented before too long.

  10. This is an amazing idea. Two minds thinking together are better than just one. Like many people I am a little surprised that this is a "new" type of research. I feel that Duoethnography will be very successful in the field of research and that it may continue to be the preferred type of research in years to come. This type of 'duo' research will help researchers discover and realize information that they may not have thought of themselves. I think this is a great contribution to the field of research and I can't wait to hear more about it's success in the future.
