This is a saga of a story. The shooting event actually happened some time ago and the plea was just entered today for attempted murder. Interesting... If you want to check the background on this shooting event just google the name of the murderer. Cheers!

This is an unbelievable story, innocent lives were lost because of evidence being withheld from other states. She killed her brother at the age of 18, but was ruled an accident because "she" claimed the gun went off while trying to unload the gun. She really did "unload" the gun alright, but it was no accident. They forgot to mention her getting a getaway car at gun point, and not dropping her gun when asked by the police. Yet, she was able to say it was an accident, she was a free woman continuing on with her life. Thanks to the justice system, she was able to claim other lives!! To make matters worse, she killed her brother in 1986, she killed her colleagues in 2010, and NOW she is actually going to trial. Our justice system is moving a little slow if you ask me. This is a scary situation in many ways, I have realized that those that "we" need to take serious we don't, who is it we really need to be worried about.
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy how some people are just crazy! First she was suspected of a pipe bombing, then later she algidity shot her brother but she said it was an accident, and now some years later freaks out again and kills three innocent people and injures another three. Does anyone else see a violent pattern in this lady?? Basically if she does not get her way in any situation she has a violent rage. In her brothers case which was deemed an accident had many weird parts to the cases. Files went missing and ultimately any serious charges were dropped. If better steps were taken and she was found guilty she would be incarcerated or put into some type of mental hospital and would not have taken other people’s lives. The shooting at the University of Alabama-Huntsville was another case of her not getting what she wanted. It was made out that she was so upset that she was not granted tenure from her school that later on in a biology department faculty meeting shot people aiming for their heads! She seriously needs help and finally two long years later she is finally going to trial. She is getting out of the death penalty by pleading guilty to capital murder. The criminal justice system has always been overwhelmed and has many critics, but we would hope for crazy murders there could be some timely justice!
ReplyDeleteOn September 11, 2012, Bishop changed her plea to guilty in order to avoid the death penalty. In researching this case concerning Amy Bishop Anderson it has quite a history. It does appear that her attorneys initially did want to give her a insanity defense but it looks to have been complicated when the Alabama supreme court did not approve funds to have more experts examine the murderer. Bishop Anderson pled guilty to the capital murder charge before a jury on September 24 2012. Under Alabama law, juries are required in capital murder cases even when a plea agreement has been reached. The trial lasted one day. After the trial was over and gag orders lifted her attorneys said their job was to ensure that she got a fair trial. She killed 3 people a day after she was denied tenure at University of Alabama. During this woman’s life again we are faced with the obvious signs of mental instability she has had over the years. Again in this instance also has had run-ins with the law yet no one stepped in to help. Who knows how if after the first incident involving her “accidental shooting” of her brother in 1986 been handled differently would we be here today?
ReplyDeleteIt is a miracle this woman never shot a student or did danger to her child. She has a very violent behavior pattern. She was charged with accidentally shooting her brother at a young age. Then her and her husband were suspects for the 1993 attempted mail bombing of a Harvard Medical School professor and when she assaults a woman over a boaster chair. Years later she finally committed murder again killing her three colleges did not receiving tenure at the university make her mad enough to kill three people and injure three. She is clearly aware of what she did and her behavior. Cases like this are difficult for me to understand because to me she is not mentally ill if she understands perfectly what she did she was aware of when she did it its more of losing control of ones self and the price she has to pay now is incarceration.
ReplyDeleteThe signs were all there that could become a murderer. I never knew you could get off for "accidentally" shooting and killing someone. That must've been during a simpler time. It's absolutely crazy that she possibly went off because she was denied tenure. I'm guessing Harvard must've denied her a class she wanted, when she tried to blow it up with a pipe bomb. These things in a person's past do not add up to a free citizen, if you ask me. Even though, she's going to jail now, it all feels a little too late.
ReplyDeleteI do not think there is much to be said about this case. She's pleading guilty, her plea aligns with all of the facts of the case, case closed. She's crazy, she knows she is crazy and she knows she killed her brother, and I'm glad as hell they reopened the case on it, because from what else I've read, she jacked a car at gunpoint, making it painfully obvious how guilty she was. It's not surprising that there are people out there like this, and I enjoyed reading that there are at least some honest murderers out there.
ReplyDeleteI dont think she should get off so easy. She killed people, she should get the death penalty. This almost sounds like premeditated murder. She knew what she was doing. How come the university did not do a back ground check on her. How come there was no mental test done on her either. This lady is straight up crazy. I would like to know what the prosecuters was thinking by giving her a plea deal instead of taking her to trial and giving her the death penalty. It sounds like they had a strong case against her. I hope they were not trying to save money. The families who lost there loved ones need to have some type closure. And she is just getting life in prison is not going to cut it in my opinion
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe this woman got away with as much as she did to start off with. I agree, our criminal justice system is lacking and too slow because it is overwhelmed. She obviously had a violent pattern before this incident, with killing her brother, and sending out pipe bombs. I believe that some of those lives could have been spared had she been sentenced for her earlier crimes sooner. I also wonder though, what if it was an accident when she shot her brother. It mentioned in another article that she and her brother were close and that she had no reason at all to kill him. Maybe that caused her mental problems which led to the future violent acts that occurred. I’m wondering if anyone else had thought about that possibility before since I had not seen it mentioned in any other articles. I don’t think anyone would be mentally stable after possibly accident shooting someone, and the fact that she got away with it once could have made her think that she could get away with it again.
ReplyDeleteThat b@#$* is crazy for real. It just goes to show that you should never underestimate ANYONE. She was a Harvard-trained geneticist and a professor yet she went postal. And apparently she's suspected of shooting her brother. How do these "killer" tendencies show up on tests and who is being tested? Some people are very calculating, very good natural actors, and they can present a very good image of themselves when they need to.
ReplyDeletePeople like her make me want to further investigate what goes through their minds before, during, and after the crime. I don't see where people get the cold heart to take another person’s life. The thought of her killing her own brother is tragic. She should have been locked behind bars a long time ago and that could have saved the lives of the others. It is obvious that this lady is not all there and needs help. The criminal justice system should have cracked down on her regardless if it was an accident or not she clearly needed help after that. It's obvious that she didn't receive any and clear that her accident wasn't an accident!
ReplyDelete2) Well this story is just sad and this woman obviously has some very serious problems. Not only is shooting six of your colleagues crazy but the fact that there is a track record before that is ridiculous. The fact that innocent people were injured and some even dead because of not getting tenure is extremely sad. But back to her track record of an “accidental” shooting of her brother, this next shooting could have been prevented. Something should have been in her record or on her record to show something like when she was applying for jobs. Obviously the woman has some serious issues. At least she is finally where she belongs and that’s locked up. But I wonder if jail is an appropriate place for her? It seems like she needs more mental help than anything. It seems like she has rage issues. If her first case with her brother would have been better handled, I think this terrible incident wouldn’t have happened and people would have still been alive today. Thankfully, it seems like this woman will not be out of jail for a while if ever which seems to better for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't necessarily say that she is crazy, but mire that she needs some sort of help. However I do feel that she does need to serve the time. She killed six people that she worked with, not only did she surprise people but not they probably have trust issues because the never saw this coming. She also got away with killing her own brother back in the 80's. Even if it was ruled an accident at the time, I would have kept my distance because something like that is going to traumatically effect someone. She also seems to have anger issues due to the fact that she shot coworkers that pissed her off. This just goes to show that you cannot really trust or be able to predict anyone's moves or motives.
