  1. This documentary was an excellent source of information that is unknown to most Americans. While working for an government agency, I remember a dentist office had committed Medicaid fraud and it had only become aware to those whom it effected. It was not made public and I believe his practice was shut down. This incident really didn't stop others, but I'm sure the Bernard Ebbers case will help. Corporate crime has a lot to with greed, money, and power. It helps you get ahead and stay ahead!! Some of those that corporate crimes, I'm sure were decent people and were not so self before the money started coming in.

  2. Wow, I knew a lot of business was corrupt, but this is ridiculous. This makes me think of the whole Enron scandal. How could anyone let people get away with this. It's like running a game of monopoly, it's pervasive and it's just plain wrong. So what if your company benefits from it, some people are going to suffer from it. I don't even see how people this wicked get that high up in the food chain either. It's kind of disgusting, really. It makes me not want to live on this planet anymore.

  3. Until watching this documentary I really didn’t understand what a corporation was, I had an idea but never really thought about it much. So to my surprise when watching this documentary and hearing them say that corporation’s first emerged as a legal person I thought wow that is pretty ridiculous. Apparently corporations are legal entities, like people. They enjoy all the rights given to us under the bill of rights, because of how the court’s interpreted the 14th amendment. When you think about it you might think ok so what they are legally a person but to what extent. They have all the right we have as people but they don’t have feelings, morals of any human characteristics. A corporations main concern is about making as much profit as possible even if that means going to other countries to get their products manufactured for practically nothing. They use people who they know are desperate and willing to work for any kind of pay as long as it provides them with some form of income. As I was watching this documentary I couldn’t help but be disgusted by seeing how low corporations will go just to make as much money as possible. Then throughout the movie you hear the term oh there are just a few rotten apples but obviously not after seeing the amount of names mentioned who were these so called “rotten apples”. Also how to you sue a corporation? Which particular person do you take to court? If a corporation is a legal person, which means one person then you should be able to take a certain person to court but as we can see that is not the case.

  4. I knew that corporate crime was big and we are being make aware of it more each day with big reveals. But sadly, I think these reveals are yet another form of greed from the media as most of the time when "reporting" the news they put spins on it to "sell" more of their news casts. However,in the crimes themselves again, until people see these criminals as dangerous as the street criminal then it will continue and get worse. If the profit is big enough so what if they are fined, or sanctioned in some way. The company is still improving it's bottom line and the risk is worth it. When addressing these companies they will have to made to go bankrupt to shake the up enough to realize bad business will no longer make a profit.

  5. After viewing this documentary it does nothing but worry me further. I knew that corporations had established themselves as persons but I did not realize how. What this does do though it shows how easy it was for corporations to get involved with even more corrupt practices most recently in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. It was a 5-4 decision to wipe away limits on corporate and labor union spending in campaigns for president and Congress. I don't see much of an end to this type of corruption. Companies will continue to do this though because they keep reaping the benefits.

  7. After viewing the documentary over cooperate crime. I was shocked to see how different companies commit crime. I always believe that corporation’s always start off with good intentions. However, over time the corporation’s tends to steer of path from their original goal. Many corporations’ is now all about the money and wealth. Unlike the being where it was always about the customer. Now corporations will tell you that they are all about customer service. However, that is no longer the case in the corporation world.

  8. When I think about Corporations, I think of Sociopaths. Which are people with no empathy or feelings. Whats funny is you rarely hear anything good about these types of corporations. The only way that this type of behavior is changed is with accountability. There has to be a way to punish them in a way that it hurts their business and their profits so much that they think twice before doing the in humane or bad thing again. When people start to weigh the option that it is better to pay a fine then it is to not hurt someone, then the fine is not big enough!!

  9. Corruptions of businesses are nothing new. I think a lot of people choose to turn the other way when hearing about these matters. Most Corporate crimes are done by educated people. There are a lot of corporations out there that a lot of people don’t really think of them as committing fraud. Many people want to believe that everything is legal and everyone especially these major corporations are following the right rules and regulations as required or expected. In fact just as mentioned in the video we can think of corporations as monsters trying to devour as much profit as they can at anyone’s expense. The corporations are only looking out for themselves. They will do whatever they can to get what they want which is “Money”. We as consumers believe that we are buying goods from these companies at a decent price when in fact they are gouging us. These major corporations are making huge profits. They have people in other countries (sweat shops) that are desperate to make a dime and paying them that exactly. Cheap labor and they benefit from it tremendously. What can we do as society to fix this?. I really don’t see a stop being put to this because so many corporations condone this behavior cause there is a lot of profit.

  10. This documentary, in my opinion was great. I think it was very educational and opened a lot of eyes to people who are not aware that corporations can commit these types of crimes, and most of all might just get away with it. Once we start seeing these people and corporations as people who are committing crimes, and hold them responsible. Only then corporations will start changing their ways. Crime doesn’t only happen in the streets!
