  1. When a person has committed such an act like this man did, it is hard to stop and think about how this new lethal injection might not work properly. Or that it may be a painful death for him. Why should we consider his feeling after what he did? I am so so for the death penalty, especially when I hear about the horrible things these people have done to their victims.

  2. Perhaps Kerr did rape and kill Pamela Horton, especially with the given records of his history of abusing women. Nevertheless, it gave me the chills when I read Kerr's quote of, "Never trust a court-appointed attorney." Just knowing that there is tiny possibility of him being innocent, but was condemned to death because he did not have the adequate defense gives me the creeps. Looking at it as a whole, even if he is not innocent, how many innocent people right now are waiting to be executed just because they had a terrible defense?

  3. The Fox story omits the fact that Pamela Horton, when found deceased, her mouth was still full of Kerr's sperm. If his story that she walked out because they had an argument - it looks like to me she would have spit or swallowed.... (GROSS!!)

The problem is we can not 2nd quess these cases based on the media because we are never, ever given all the facts! The real question is whether or not the crime should be a capital offense. Beccaria would say no... but I am not so sure!

  4. This case can be viewed from various aspects because as stated in earlier comments no one knows all the facts. Kerr's history makes him seem guilty but it's just the fact that he was the last person to be in her presence makes him seem guilty also. The condition they were both in when they last saw each other does not help him either. Kerr says he is innocent but who wouldn't say they were innocent in this case, I do not think anybody would want to be accused of anything like this. There is so much unknown information about the case that all they really have to go off of is Kerr's history. I think it would have been better to further investigate the case, instead of just resorting to the death penalty because what's done in the dark will eventually come to the light. Even though his past history makes him seem guilty maybe this was his punishment for what he did in the past even if did not kill this woman.

  5. Of course we will never know all the details of this case and you cannot always trust what you read or hear from the media. I did not have my mind made up until i saw that there were pieces of Horton's torn clothing at his place. Thank God he did not have money to get his own attorney because he could have been set free JUST because of that. People with money can get themselves out of trouble a lot of the time. His violent history says a lot about him, especially since he was actually charged with a violent crime back in 1999. As for the new drug in the cocktail, oh well. Animals are put to sleep with phenobarbital and this new drug is pentobarbital. Death row inmates should be grateful they get to go to sleep that way. MUCH better than the gas chamber.

  6. Unless cold, hard evidence came into play in this case, you wouldn’t be able to convince me that Kerr was innocent; court appointed attorney or not. If it smells like a rat, looks like a rat, and sounds like a rat... its got to be a rat. I find it odd that Kerr happen to arrive on the scene simply because “he might know the woman”. Although little evidence is given in this article, all of the evidence that is provided points directly to Kerr. The investigation wasn’t prolonged because it was not necessary. Kerr was the number one suspect until the detectives found pieces of Horton’s torn clothing in Kerr’s home, then he became undoubtedly the killer of Pamela Horton. As for the three-drug chemical cocktail, I am not opposed. The new drug needed to be tested somehow and it’s okay with me that someone who committed such a heinous crime was the ginny pig. Kerr took advantage of Horton when she was intoxicated to the point of no defense so why not take advantage of him when he has suddenly become the helpless one?

  7. I agree with the jury finding Kerr guilty of her rape and murder, but find it interesting that this article omitted facts pertaining to this case. I find it somewhat humorous that Kerr is blaming a court-appointing attorney for his guilty verdict and loss of appeals; people will blame anyone except themselves. I am for the death penalty especially in cases such as this where all the evidence points to one person, and therefore a guilty verdict is a definite. I also believe that for most murderers, lethal injection is too light a sentence and feel a more harsh punishment is necessary. They didn’t use the rule of cruel and unusual punishment to their victims and yet they are given this respect in their last hours here on earth. This new drug seems fine by me, considering it has the same effects as the last one and the original drug sodium thiopental has become unavailable.
