  1. This story is awesome and I laughed so hard when I watched the video. I’m not going to lie I’ve always wondered why someone never decided to dress up in a costume and go fight crime. This was my first time hearing about “Jones” so called superhero group and I can’t help but to think of that movie Kickass. What puzzles me is why this individual takes it upon himself to try and stop these situations and when it doesn’t work out he pepper sprays them. I mean what does he expect, he has to know that he has no official authority whatsoever and like the citizens he claims he is trying to protect he too is subject to the rules of law. I’m surprised he wasn’t arrest sooner for assault, because this can’t be the first time this has happened. This story reminds of the group in Dallas that claims to be doing the same thing, without the superhero costume of course. The best part of this video is when he said police confiscated his costume, but it was okay because he had a backup. I’m not going to lie, I’d kind of like to see this guy in action in all his superhero glory.

  2. I found this story to be quite entertaining. As a kid your always watching cartoons of spider man, super man and batman wondering how come there are not individuals who actually try to be super hero's. Ive never heard of Seattle's super hero until today. I admire Phoenix Jones for what he is doing but sometimes you just have to let the actually police officers deal with the problem. There was no need for him to pepper spray those who had done nothing wrong. Like they said in the video everyone has consequences for the actions you make. Although he means well, you cant go around harming others for no reason.

  3. LMBO, Laugh my butt off. I have never seen this guy before although his name sounds familiar. I immediately think, "KICKASS" I wondered what it would be like if someone were to do this and someone has but he's not very authoritative like the movie. I agree with Jesus, sometimes people should just let the actual police officers worry about the problem and that he had good intentions, doesn't mean he can just pepper spray anyone. I would like to see a one on one interview with this guy to see how he acts and how he thinks. But this may be a good thing or a bad thing. Strange random might dress up and cause problems or actual heroes might arise and help people. We don't really know what kind of impact he is making on the society. The cops did the right thing by arresting him because he had no authority and is considered a normal human in society and cant go pepper spraying just anyone.

  5. This so called "superhero" is quite a character I have to say. Even though he wants to help the people, he shouldn't be going around using pepper spray to calm the situation down. I have to admit he has a pretty cool outfit. This guy is a joke to many. Who gave him the right to go resolve problems of others? Every citizen has to stand up for themselves. Even though there's citizens that can't protect themselves. There could be a different situation to this.

    In costumes, really?
Katie is right, there should be a one on one interview with that guy.
I don’t think this is a joke to him, but how the heck are we supposed to take someone serious, that runs around in a costume?! Are they trying to get people’s attention for a message they want to get across, or are they actually thinking of themselves as superheroes? Does he just enjoy the adrenalin rush or does it actually mean something to him to help others? I would love to hear about his motivations.
This article makes the whole group look pretty ridiculous, but there should be some more information about their point of view, because in general their idea is awesome!
I’m not sure about America, but I’d think that, just as in Germany, it happens way too often, that it is being ignored when other people need support.
Pedestrians, bystanders, scarred to get involved watch others being insulted assaulted and beaten up.
I don’t know that I would invest my free time looking for trouble in a superhero costume, but we could actually take these guys as an example about getting involved (but only when it’s needed!). To a certain degree the police needs that support.
I really don’t know whether I should just laugh about them…I want to hear their side and see if they are really as dumb as this article makes them seem, or if there are some rational sane reasons why they do what they do.

  7. In the media, superheroes are depicted opposite from reality. In Kick-Ass, these so called superheroes give out their own justice and murder people. But in reality taking the law into your own hands causes more harm than good and murder is not taken lightly in reality. In Batman, Bruce Wayne doesn’t kill people but by him fighting the criminals the criminals became more aggressive like in the dark knight.

Vigilantes cause more harm than good. This guy by using pepper spray hurt people with out really knowing the consequences and instead of the police dealing with more serious crimes they have to deal with them. I think reporting a crime is better than spending money on a silly costume not for Halloween. That’s the best way to help.

  8. the term "super hero" needs to not be thrown around as lightly as it is...i never saw bat man or super man using pepper spray...but on a serious note i think the guy is trying to do good things across the community, keeping bad things from happening. I do not know if he is legally able to carry out such actions against people breaking the law, but i really don't mind him pepper spraying someone for violating the law against someone. He is helping another person. Plain and simple. If a girl can carry a can of mase on her key ring for protection, why cant a man, in a Super Hero outfit, carry mase to help those in need? Granted if he makes a mistake and intervenes at the wrong time, i think he should be held accountable. But to intervene, and keep a bad situation I am all for it. #PhoenixJones

  9. I think that what he is doing is good because so many people walk away when an attack, bullying or assault happens. It was interesting to read that he took matters into his own hands because he was not satisfied by the way Seattle police were doing their job, like not showing up for hours. But, of course, it all started because his car had been broken into and his son was injured by falling on broken glass. He was told that bystanders saw it all happen but did not do anything to stop it. Yes, he sprayed pepper spray on a person that tried to steal a bus, prevented an intoxicated man from entering his car, just as a few examples of what he has done. His name is Benjamin John Francis Fodor, 1988 and is the leader of the citizen crime prevention patrol group that call themselves the Rain City Superhero Movement that operate out of Seattle and Lynnwood, Washington. I'm inclined to agree that he is a "Superhero."

  10. this guy is going to get killed or thrown in jail. i as well have wondered why no one, with all the comic books and movies and such, has never tried this idea but i guess i also had too much faith in the intelligence of humanity for us to realize it's a good thing that no one has tried before. we dont have super powers. we are not indestructible. our skin is not bullet proof. Drop the tights and go be an inspirational speaker, not a joke.

  11. I could not see the video that was linked, but I have see news stories such as these before. It makes me wonder what they are thinking. Half are thinking that it is cool they can be like spiderman or superman and half have great intentions I think. The problem is that people can not just try to deliver justice while obeying the law. I think these people have good intentions and I respect them for trying to make a difference, but the real question is why do they not just volenteer as an officer or a fireman. If they did they would be doing a greater deed than walking the streets at night and calling 911.

  12. This guy is dumb, probably seen one to many bat man movies in his life. You can't go around being a modern day vigilante, it just doesn't work. Does he honestly think he can stop a gun man. He needs to have a psychological evaluation to make sure he doesn't think that he has powers. He is probably just a comic book nerd that got tired of just reading and wanted more in his life.
