  1. I find this article very disturbing and emotional. This is a classic case of a psychopath. One who is lacking remorse, empathy, without conscious of their action. Im going to have to go home now and put on a few movies to get other thoughts in my mind. Thanks for the memories. But seriously, I just see a patterns from the criminological theories of assessment and examination of objectivity of one actions and effect it will have on others regardless whether they are live or dead.

  2. Okay, first of all, I'd like to say why the whole emphasizing on the whole transgender thing...I mean is it truly necessary. I think it's just a way of grabbing public's attention. Of course, here, Renata did the whole "classical school of crimonology"; she chose to break the law and slaughter this poor pastor. We have to admit though, it says that he (renata) had been off in the military, well sometimes joining the military can cause a person to loose their minds off. Although I ask myself, could it be that possible the pastor may have been totally against Renata's sex change?; being labeled as a "transgender". We are talking physiology here (labeling). If this was the case, maybe it's what made Renata do what she did and could take it no longer, committing suicide. That's just my opinion

  3. This is an odd case. I don't really see why they mentioned the transgender issue. That may be just another example of the media trying to get attention. The media always has its own script, and here they were trying to portray Monet as deviant as possible. I didn't really see why she killed the pastor. It may have been because she was engaging in activities like writing documents with such titles as "The Gospel of Satan," which is pretty disturbing. It was my understanding that transgendered people were very passive and usually not murderers like this. Which leads me to wonder if Monet was really transgendered or if she only thought she was and was trying to correct some perceived defect in her mind. The person above commented that being in the military could have messed her up when she was male, and this is possible. Ultimately, I think this is more interesting because of how the media is portraying it. It is certainly tragic for the pastor and her church. It's too bad no one saw this coming.

  4. My question here is: where their no signs? The article said Monet had a website. You would think that someone would have seen it and reported it. As a psychology major wonder a lot about the mental condition of Monet. She was obviously mentally disturbed (which could have been due to her previous experiences with war). I can understand how dealing with the horrible memories of war (i.e. post traumatic stress disorder) could cause someone to lose their mind in a sense, but what I don’t understand is where the subject of being transgender comes into play. Did horrible experiences of war cause Monet to be transgendered and then kill her Pastor? Typically people who are transgendered say that they realize a little earlier in life their feelings that they should have been the opposite sex. Why would Monet’s being transgendered even matter? I agree with the entry above me when they said that the media was trying to attract more readers. Another thing that concerns me is Monet’s pastor was trying to help her. Why kill her pastor and then kill herself even after she had gone through the trouble of changing her name? This case seems to have a few holes in it.

  5. I really do not know what to make of this. I am just blank or rather in a state of shock. I guess maybe because I am trying to understand “Roberta” rational of even going to church if she is writing the Gospels according to Satan or whatever. I’m wondering if this was just a sacrifice, and now I’m starting to watch the lady in my church that kind of looks like a man. But seriously, how in the world did a 10yr old male write about killing women and no one questioned it. I cannot see that from the information given of Roberta’s pass no one saw something like this brutal murder/suicide in the making. In this story I do not see where anyone says he was a normal kid/adult, like they say with serial killers, well I guess that would be because she wasn’t a serial killer. If I were his parent, all kinds of red flags would have been going up.

  6. It is hard to think that a person writing at 10 years old about killing women, would then turn into one and then commit the very thing that she claimed. Through his writings and graphic manifestos; he /she gives us good insight that he may have extended problems and thoughts. It is disturbing to read of a man/ woman who wrote such things as “the Gospel According to Satan”, then become a member of a church, and finishing in by taking the life of her Pastor and then herself.
It is sad to see such a well respected and loved individual such as Pastor Johnson, murdered by one who was thought to be “part” of the community!
If only people had known or seen the signs earlier, then this might have been prevented.

  7. While reading this article it was hard not to cringe. The..woman? that killed the more pastor must have had an event or chain of events growing up as a little boy to imagine killing women since he was 8. During the trial hearing and investigations I hope the detectives or whoever was investigating this case tried to come in contact with Monet’s parents to see why she had such psychological disturbances. One of the sergeants claimed that this crime was premeditated, so why would Monet kill herself? I’m sure there is some sort of a note she could’ve made in a journal or a hint in one of the many novels she wrote. This article was very vague and didn’t go into great detail aside from the mourning of the reverend. I personally would like to know more about Monet, books that she wrote when she was a man and about this website! That’s another thing! If Monet had a website with content with such abnormalities like killing women and talking about his death, then why didn’t someone report him? Is our society that selfish and numb to repulsive detail? That alone is just disturbing, but on top of that why this pastor? If this murder was premeditated then why this victim?

  8. In reference to a previous blog of mine... people are **** crazy. Renata previous we do not know... is someone who bring a completely different back ground to the criminal justice. This is a person who obviously had an extremely troubled past due to the evidence she/he had left on his/her personal web page. What concerns me is the fact that it had been established to probably thousands of people these peculiar statements made about dreaming of killing someone at the age of ten. Though I am not a psychologist or anything of the sort but this seems like a cry for help or in the least a sign that something is not completely "there" for this individual. The fact that he/she had written 21 books over the various materials and one of them being the gospel of Satan? It is interesting to me that authorities were not previously informed or engaged in watching the blogs of this individuals because these all seem like troubling signs that could and or did lead to a traumatic event. It is also very interesting to me that it had been exactly one year after the official changing of his/her name that he/she committed the violent slaying and taking of his/her own personal life. I feel as if for someone who, judging from the article, is a very complex person may have had some have done this with some sort of significances.

  9. I think the word "transgender" in the title of the article was just used to be an eye catcher, because most of the readers will think "oh, what did this freak do?"

Did nobody know that Renata had a few issues? I mean, wanting to kill and posting it on a website? I guess the Pastor did, but I'm sure she remained silent as a respect to their confidentiality.

The Pastor seemed very well respected and it's sad that such a good person had to die so violently.
