Punishment serving as entertainment for the masses. There is little inherently different from past Roman gladitorial combat and the modern day prison rodeo. I just found out yesterday that the state of Oklahoma has been allowing women to participate in prison rodeos since 2006. Time standing tradition for men but new for women.
